Job description:
A UK based construction business with an excellent reputation. We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to support our Kidderminster offices which deal with projects including Commercial, Defence, Education, Healthcare, Industrial, Leisure and Retail.

Responsibilities:
Provide an on-going focus for business development and work winning in the required sectors
Proactively develop long-term customer relationships
Provide market intelligence and other information on competitors and potential customers
Identifying potential opportunities from conceptual development
Networking with customers and consultants to raise the company profile
Liaising with PR consultants to identify possible PR Opportunities
Organising and attending events and functions and identifying influential guests
Liaising with the business development community to identify cross regional opportunities
Understand market trends and inform the business accordingly
Assist with strategic planning and input to the business plan
Identify opportunities to submit projects for local and national awards
Keep up to date with public procurement policies
Understand the customers key drivers and inform the team as appropriate
Liaise with preferred supplier chain partners regarding their pipeline
Preparation and publishing of appropriate reports for the board

Person Specification:
We are looking for someone from a sales/Account Management background (this could also include the technically specialist recruitment market) and not necessarily from a traditional construction environment.

Key skills required:
Relationship mapping skills are important as is your ability to connect to people quickly.
Motivation to get things done and to leverage relationships is essential.
Demonstratable success in winning new business.
All-round business acumen.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Self-driven, results orientated with a positive outlook.
Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
