Case Study

Due to the proximity of the building in relation to the Buxton spring, the bottling plant, the historic nature of the building and the confined working space (in the heart of Buxton) all works were strictly controlled.

Due to the type of foundation construction employed when the building was originally constructed, additional concrete reinforcement was utilised by Hannafin Contractors to allow the extension to adjoin the building at a lower level.

Some works were carried out below water table and around existing spring water with a de-watering strategy in place.

Provision of a new Ladies swimming pool, and the Gents pool was created within the existing footprint of original pool.

We also dealt with areas of contaminated ground in liaison with archaeologists.
