On Friday 19th November 2021, Jehangir (Jay), was presented with the Medal of Bravery on behalf of Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor-General of Canada, by the Honourable Ralph E. Goodale, High Commissioner for Canada in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

He was presented with the Medal of Bravery because he, along with his friends, Kyle Busquine and Julio Cabrera, had rescued a man with visual impairments who had fallen on the subway tracks in Toronto, Ontario in 2018.

Jay proudly stated, "It was an absolute honour to receive this Medal from the High Commissioner. I am very grateful for the Ceremony held for me and my family by all those involved at Canada House, London. Everyone involved has put a lot of thought into getting the ceremony together and taking time out of their lives for it. It was all very special and memories of the day will be forever cherished."

The Decorations for Bravery were created to honour exceptional acts of selflessness in hazardous circumstances or situations of great peril. Created in 1972, by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Canadian Bravery Decorations symbolically express the nation's gratitude to those people who defy the instinct for self-preservation and risk their lives to save or protect others.
